Director of Program Planning and Performance

Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault

The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA) is seeking a team member to join our creative, supportive, and energetic office. The Director of Program Planning is charged with supporting the development and implementation of the agency’s programmatic priorities, goals, and objectives, as well as monitoring agency and sub-recipient program performance. As a member of the agency’s three-person leadership team, the Director of Program Planning and Performance also supervises program staff and plays key leadership roles in support of and in the absence of the Executive Director. The ideal team member understands or has worked with violence intervention or on complex social issues, is comfortable working with a wide range of partners, is enthusiastic about planning and evaluating innovative programming, and appreciates a high-paced work environment. A position description can be found here.

MECASA represents and serves Maine’s local sexual violence service providers and children’s advocacy centers, and provides training, technical assistance, and support to a wide range of sexual violence-related partners and community members. Our efforts include initiating and advocating for victim-centered public policy; providing expert training, technical assistance, and resources for providers and partners; funding sexual assault service providers; and informing conversations about sexual violence.

  • Grounded in an anti-oppression approach to anti-sexual violence work
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide effective staff supervision and mentoring
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently and to show initiative and creativity 
  • Comfort with and ability to multiā€task  
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Adaptability and love of learning
  • Experience in the sexual violence or related field preferred
  • Experience in program evaluation preferred

 Accountability: Accountable to the Executive Director

 Compensation and Benefits

  • Our organization is committed to work/life balance and supporting the individuals with whom we work.
  • The position salary range is $50,000 to $75,000, based on tenure and experience.
  • Full-time, exempt position, working 40 hours per week.
  • 11 paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and retirement package in keeping with industry norms, and a family-friendly schedule.
  • Individual health insurance is currently paid 100% by MECASA.   

 Hiring Process

  • Applications will be accepted through January 27.
  • First interviews (approximately 45 minutes, in person or via video chat) will take place in early February.
  • Finalists will be invited for a second interview (approximately 1 hour) in February.
  • We anticipate a start date in March.
