Franklin County Sexual Assault Response Team Coordinator

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services, historically known as SAVES in Frankiln County, is looking for a full time Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Coordinator to provide services in Franklin County. The SART Coordinator works with survivors of sexual assault and their families, primarily providing support, assistance and advocacy from reporting to the police through the court systems and beyond. The SART Coordinator can help survivors understand their reporting options, and can provide accompaniment to the police department if the survivor decides to report the crime. The SART Coordinator can stay involved with the survivor throughout the criminal justice process, serving as a support person and as a liaison with the systems personnel. The SART Coordinator also provides assistance for survivors who are seeking a protection from abuse order, and can provide referrals for a variety of needed services (including other services offered by SAPARS). The SART Coordinator works closely with hospital, law enforcement and court personnel to ensure effective multidisciplinary system response to sexual assault survivors, which may include assessing the need for and providing relevant training.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (criminal justice, human services, social services, social work, psychology) or equivalent life or work experience, knowledge of and comfort with the criminal justice system.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to issues of sexual victimization, strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior advocacy and direct service experience desirable
