Intervention Coordinator

Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault

The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA) is seeking a team member to join our creative, supportive, and energetic staff. The Intervention Coordinator is charged with delivering training, technical assistance, and resources related to services for survivors of sexual violence to Maine’s sexual assault support centers and related partners. The central goal of this position is to build capacity and resources for local sexual assault service providers in their delivery of support groups, 24-hour helpline and text/chat services, and one-to-one advocate services. The ideal candidate will have a background in advocacy or anti-violence work and will be excited about building programs and tackling complex problems as part of a dynamic team. MECASA represents and serves Maine’s local sexual assault service providers and children’s advocacy centers, and provides training, technical assistance, and support to a wide range of sexual violence-related partners and community members. Our efforts include initiating and advocating for victim-centered public policy; providing expert training, technical assistance, and resources for providers and partners; and funding sexual assault service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to issues of sexual victimization.
  • Experience providing direct human services or supporting those who do. 
  • Proven ability to engage with team and partners through direct, honest, and respectful communication.
  • Experience working independently, while knowing when to engage team members.
  • Commitment to intentionally seeking, receiving, and integrating the input of others.
  • Skills to meet our programmatic goals effectively and efficiently.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in a range of settings through knowing their audience and role and engaging in clear messaging.                                                                                                          

ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to the Director of Program Planning and Performance

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Our organization is committed to work/life balance and supporting the individuals with whom we work. The position’s starting salary range is $44,000 to $55,000, based on tenure and experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, based on 40 hours per week. However, the number of hours a week is negotiable. We offer paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and retirement package in keeping with industry norms, as well as a flexible schedule. Individual health insurance premiums are currently paid 100% by MECASA. We offer generous paid family medical leave.
