SART Program Manager

Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine

Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Program Manager will coordinate the SART program and supervise Advocates providing direct services to victims of sexual violence. The SART Program Manager is accountable to the Executive Director.

  • Bachelor degree in women’s studies, public health, criminology, social work or social welfare is preferred.
  • Equivalent life or work experience will be considered.
  • An understanding of sexual assault issues is required.
  • Experience in crisis and/or other advocacy services.
  • Experience working with or within all or some of the following systems: law enforcement, medical, social services and legal.
  • Familiarity with York and Cumberland County social services preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including public speaking and meeting facilitation.
  • Reliable Transportation.
Program Management
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the SART program.
  • Provide direction and supervision to SART Advocates.
  • Delegate SART clients to SART Advocates and ensure follow-through.
  • Maintain relevant records and provide reports as required by funding and SARSSM requirements.
  • Ensure that on-going communication and in-service trainings are completed.
  • Oversee the implementation of special SART programs, i.e. services to incarcerated women; services to the homeless, etc.
  • Schedule and facilitate quarterly SART meetings in both York and Cumberland Counties.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with SART members.
  • Raise awareness of and access to our services in the community.
  • Create and/or participate in opportunities for collaboration with community service providers.
  • Identify and develop strategies to provide outreach to under-served populations.
  • Participate and serve as SARSSM representative on local committees, conferences and/or board meetings.
  • Maintain a familiarity with services available to survivors of sexual assault in York and Cumberland Counties.
Direct Service
  • Provide telephone and/or in-person crisis support services to victims and family members following a sexual assault. This includes providing Level 1, Level 2 and staff back-up duties on the crisis and support line.
  • Provide follow-up assistance and support to victim and family as needed with regard to the criminal justice process, including updated information on progress of the investigation.
  • Assist victims in obtaining necessary social/community services and provide relevant information to providers when requested by the victim, or concerned others as appropriate.
  • Help victims file for compensation when appropriate.
  • Provide services to clients through special SART programs.
Evaluation and Training
  • Develop evaluation tool in conjunction with SART members and utilize with victims and concerned others to ensure the quality service provision.
  • Develop training modules for SART members and SARSSM staff.
  • Provide educational presentations and in-service training programs for allied professionals in the community in cooperation with and/or as requested by Education Program Manager.
Support Groups
  • Coordinate all roles and responsibilities of SARSSM staff as detailed in the agency Support Group Policies.
  • Maintain a viable list of support group facilitators and ensure that facilitator roles and responsibilities are followed according to the agency Support Group Policies.
  • Update the types of support groups to remain current with psych educational support group practices for female and male survivors of violence.
  • Identify and implement complementary support group modalities when resources allow.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Participate in agency events and programs.
  • Assist the Executive Director as requested.

This position may require evening and/or weekend hours as necessary
