Tedford Housing

The Board of Directors of Tedford Housing is seeking a proven leader to become its next Executive Director. Tedford Housing, a nonprofit organization based in Brunswick, Maine, holds a central belief that everyone deserves to have a safe and affordable home.

For over 30 years, Tedford Housing has led initiatives that create pathways from homelessness to home in the southern Midcoast Maine region. In partnership with people and communities in the area, we pursue this critical mission to improve quality of life for families, youth and adults who have or are experiencing homelessness.

Tedford Housing supports two emergency housing programs in Brunswick, six supported apartment buildings with 37 units, and homeless prevention services in Brunswick and Newcastle. At the core of all of these services is the work of case management addressing the needs of every guest, tenant and client.

Funding comes from several sources including MaineCare, United Way, MaineHousing, rental income, towns and counties, individuals and foundations. Tedford Housing works closely with its many community partners to create and support the resources and services that help bridge households from homelessness to home. Tedford receives strong, widespread and active support from the greater Brunswick region and is led by an amazing Board of Directors and a committed staff including a Director of Operations, a Director of Development and a Business Manager.

The next strategic priority for Tedford Housing is to build a new resource center to expand capacity and to consolidate the existing two emergency housing facilities and administration into one location for enhanced guest services. This process will include land and building procurement and involvement in a Capital Campaign to fund the resource center.

After conducting an extensive assessment process, the Board of Directors identified key necessary experience, qualities and competencies for our next Executive Director:

Minimum requirements:
  • Experience working in the field of homelessness, poverty, or a related field.
  • Extensive management experience.

Compensation:
The Executive Director will receive a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
